2 more crowns for Heroes basketball - 2008-04-15
The Heroes basketball program is running full-throttle after the 2009 and 2011 squads rang up championships at the Great American Shoot-Out last weekend in Dallas.
Heroes 2009 teamed up to defeat Urban DFW Elite Jazzy, 69-52, in the Elite Division title game. Four Heroes scored in double figures: Tyler Melville (13 points), Jeff Georgatos (12), Shawn Glover (12) and Jourdan Isom (12), and Corey Remekun chipped in nine.
The 2011 club topped AAG Nets, 43-37, for the Open Division gold. Jamar Goodwin, Billy Simpson and Darius Singleton combined for 27 points.
Heroes 2010 took the consolation title.
